TOPIC: Joooid 2.0 Beta released for testing

I've found 2 things myself.

- I added a map element, clicked the top corner edit elements and changed the map dimensions and zoom. Map showed up as default settings.
Alignment (left, center, right) doesn't apply at all.
When I close it and go back and try to edit it, it doesn't open up as the map element. It just opens as the script code within a single text block (Had Text, Map, Text before). Have to start over and redo it.
When I go to the backend within a browser and try to edit that article with the map to get the right size and alignment, I completely lose it and it only comes up as an div with &nbsp in it.

- All articles open up in editing as "Uncategorised". So unless I remember to change it back before saving it changes the category.

Using Beta 2 on a tablet, Springboard.

Hi lilaliend,
Thank you for testing the app.

added a map element, clicked the top corner edit elements and changed the map dimensions and zoom. Map showed up as default settings.

About the configuration of the maps I'll check if the configuration parameter are correctly taken when preparing html for the article.

This could be user error, as there doesn't seem to be any documentation on using the app.

You are right I have to write some documentation and maybe make some videos about how to use the app.

Also when I go back and try to edit it, it doesn't open up as the map element to easily edit. It just opens as the script code within the text. Have to start over and redo it.

In the 2.0 beta release there is a caching mechanism that shoul let you edit a cached version of the article and not the one coming from the server in pure html, so whenever you publish an article a local copy is saved.
In the article manager when you click on an article you wrote from Joooid shoul appear an extra option called "edit local copy", it means that there is a cached version of the article in Joooid format. Check if it's working for you.

Then when I go to the backend within a browser and try to edit that article with the map, I completely lose it and it only comes up as an div with &nbsp in it.

This happens when you edit an article with tinymce, it removes any javascript from the article, the only way to solve this issue is to use plugins, so I'll have to write my own plugins to display maps, I've got to thing about that.

I'll write here about my progress with your issues.

Actually yes, I figured just that and before posting I checked. Redid the page (pulled it up in browser to see I had it back) then went back within joooid and clicked the article, opened it with "Edit Local Copy" and got the same thing. All was within a single text element.

I'm using JCE. Just FYI, assuming same issue either way.

and wasn't trying to callout lack of documentation, it's a free app, would much rather see time spent on development... I can figure it out

I've uploaded a new apk/component/plugin for the beta version, it should fix the article cache problem, I've also partially fixed some map issue (map type in configuration, I'm working also on map alignment), I've also completely refactored the article preferences. Please test it again (remember to uninstall/reinstall the component/plugin) and tell me if it's working for you. Thank you for testing joooid.
